Members of Savannah's 165th Airlift Wing pose on the tarmac at a remote location in Uzbekistan north of the Afghan border. The Georgia Air Guardsmen under the command of Wing Commander Col Thomas Moore conduct a variety of missions including airlift, rescue and special operations. Moore commands more than 800 Air Force personnel and aircraft and approximately 170 members of the Texas Army National Guard personnel providing base support.
