Georgia Guard's Top Recruiters

Team 5 leader Master Sgt Michelle Harvard is congratulated by commander of the R&R Battalion, Lt. Col. Peter Van Amburgh

The Georgia Army Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion held its annual awards and recognition dinner in July to honor those soldiers who have made exceptional contributions to the R&R efforts.

The Chief’s 54 Award to this year’s top recruiter in the state went to Sgt. First Class James King who recruited 54 new soldiers over the year. His daughter Evelyn is a specialist in the Georgia Army National Guard.

This year’s award for the top team was a tie. The honor was jointly won by Team 4, which is led by Master Sgt. Vegas McCain, and Team 5, led by Master Sgt. Michelle Harvard. Team 4 has responsibility for the north metro area. Team 5 recruits in north Georgia.
