Honors Security Force Squadron
Squadron members received awards and decorations including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal. Dr. John Winkler, deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for Reserve Affairs, assisted in the awards ceremony and was the guest speaker. He talked about the increasing importance of the reserve and guard. "Our country’s reserve units have become a crucial part of our military forces," said Winkler. The men and women of the Georgia Air National Guard served 18 months in Southwest Asia participating in operations Noble Eagle, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Southern Watch and Joint Guardian.
