Members of the 118th Personnel Service Detachment (PSD) arrived home the night before Thanksgiving from their year-long deployment to the Middle East. Family, friends and coworkers welcomed back the 45 soldiers during a ceremony at the Oglethorpe Armory. Operating from Camp Doha in Kuwait, the118th was assigned to the Aerial Port of Debarkation/Embarkation, which is a processing center for all the soldiers entering and departing the Area or Operations in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The unit also was responsible for the relocation of the APOD/E from Camp Doha to Ali Al Salem Airbase in Kuwait. While deployed in Kuwait, the 118th PSD processed in excess of 200,000 soldiers entering and leaving Kuwait and performed more than 725,000 personnel and administration transactions.
