Sgt. 1st Class Timothy Carter and Sgt. Hubert
Smith, of LaGrange's 1177th Transportation Company, add items to the
food basket to be given to a resident during the unit's first Guard
Against Hunger Food Drive, Friday, Dec. 19, 2002. The Guardsmen put
together about 25 packages for some of LaGrange's' most needy families.
Each box was filled with can goods, cake mix and frosting, flour,
cornmeal and sugar. Also included in the holiday baskets were two
Cornish hens or one turkey. Families with children received baby food
and toys. Items for this year's food drive were for the soldiers and
their families and the LaGrange Kroger store. (Georgia National Guard
