Georgia Army Guard officials have announced significant gains in personnel and troop strength. Army Guard strength figures between January 2006 and January 2007 have increase 9.7 percent for a net gain of 892 Soldiers.

“We are currently ranked as the No.1 state in three key categories associated with End Strength, mission and “Quality Boots , said Maj. Gen. Terry Nesbitt, Commander, Georgia Army National Guard.

According to Lt.Col Pete VanAmburgh, personnel officer, Georgia Army National Guard, “Our strength posture will yield relevant and highly sought after force structure as well as additional fulltime manning. We are likely to see the biggest one year increase in fulltime manning if we stay in the top ranks for ‘Quality Boots’ through September 2007."
