Army Guard Makes Senior Staff Changes;
New Chief of Staff Announced

The Georgia Army National Guard announced several major changes in senior staff positions. Colonel Maria Britt is taking over the duties as Chief of Staff, replacing Col. Don Venn who is retiring. 

A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, Col. Britt has served more than 22 years on active duty and with the Georgia Guard. Her varied assignments include command of the 221st Military Intelligence Battalion, and most recently the G-1 (Personnel and Administration Officer). 

In other moves in the Army Guard:

- Lt. Col. Stan Crowder will replace Col. Maria Britt as G-1

- Col. Tim Romine has been named G-3 (Plans, Operations and Training Officer) replacing Col. Greg Edwards

- Col Edwards moves to the position of Deputy Commander of 78th Troop Command replacing Col. Tim Britt.

- Col. Tim Britt has been assigned to the Joint Operations Directorate as J3-Director of Military Support, replacing Col. Ted Childers who is retiring.
