Georgia’s 117th
Air Control Squadron currently serving in
Iraq
recently received a visit from the Maj Gen David Poythress and
Georgia’s Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson as well as
Congressman John Linder in April. The
distinguished visitors observed
Georgia air
controllers as they controlled the entire airspace over
Iraq.
The 117th and the 141st Air Control Squadrons
of Puerto Rico are the first Air National Guard units to have sole
responsibility for the control of Iraqi airspace. |
