Georgia ESGR Committee
To Salute National Guardsmen and Employers

The Georgia Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, will salute Georgia National Guardsmen, Reservists and their supportive employers at Noon, on Monday, October 18, at the Georgia International Convention Center, 2000 Convention Center Concourse, in College Park, .

Maj Gen. Tom Wessels, USAR (Ret), Georgia ESGR State Chairman, is encouraging all Atlanta area employers to attend the event where they can sign a Statement of Support for Georgia’s National Guardsmen and Reservists, who like the Minute Men before them have answered their nation’s call to defend our way of life.

“Saluting America ’s Employers is the right thing to do, and this is the right time to do it”, said Bob Hollingsworth, National Committee for ESGR Executive Director.  “Many of Georgia ’s employers have gone above and beyond in their support of their employees who serve in the state’s National Guard and Reserve.”  He added that ESGR representatives will provide employers information to ensure compliance with the USERRA Laws, as well as suggestions on how best to manage their employees who serve their country in the Georgia National Guard and Reserve.

ESGR will bring to College Park a NASCAR show car, known as “ America ’s Car” which will be displayed from 10:00AM to 3:00PM at the Georgia International Convention Center .  All citizens of the greater Atlanta area are invited to have their picture taken with “ America ’s Car”, and to sign their names to several large “Support our Troops” banners to demonstrate their continued support for our deployed troops.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense volunteer organization.  ESGR provides free education, consultation, and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve employees. More information about ESGR Employer Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities is available at www.esgr.org, or by calling 800-336-4590.
