Recruiting and Retention Redesignated as a Battalion

The Georgia Army National Guard's Recruiting & Retention detachment has been redesignated as Recruiting & Retention Battalion (RRB). The change is part of a nationwide change announced in July Lt. Gen Roger Shultz, director of the Army National Guard at National Guard Bureau.

In anticipation of the change, Georgia's Recruiting & Retention organized along battalion lines in January 2004 The unit’s primary mission is recruiting quality personnel and retaining professional soldiers in the Georgia ARNG. In addition to its principal role, the RRB also directs the Recruit Sustainment Program (RSP) and recently took over command and control of the North Georgia College Detachment

Personnel: over 600 personnel (14 OFF, 92 NCOs, 500 ENL, and over 30 SMPs).

Fulltime Manning: 106 AGR (1/5 of the state total) and 4 technicians.

Resource Management: over $2,500,000 in the state’s budget.

Organization: Battalion HQS, Task Force Red, Task Force White, Recruit Holding Company and North Georgia College Detachment.

Area Coverage: 77 locations in the State of Georgia (61 unit armories, 5 storefronts, 5 RSP sites, 3 ROTC programs, NGC detachment, Military Entrance Processing Station, and battalion HQS).
