Pay: An E-4 and can earn over $3,463 annually (or around $200 per weekend).  That's 63 days pay for 39 days participation (One weekend a month and two weeks of annual training).

EDUCATION: You can earn an Associate's Degree through the Community College of the Air Force (CCAF).  Enrollment is automatic and there are no tuition fees.  A 6 year enlistment entitles you to the Reserve Montgomery GI Bill.

MONTGOMERY GI BILL KICKER: There are 20 career fields that are entitled to the Montgomery GI Bill Kicker which increases the benefit by an additional $ 350 a month for a full-time student.

SERVICE CANCELABLE EDUCATION LOAN: A new state sponsored college tuition assistance program that pays up to $ 3,600 a year of college tuition for the Guardmember.  This program can be used along with the Montgomery GI Bill and the Student Loan Repayment Program.

$20,000 Student Loan Repayment Program : If you qualify, The Air National Guard will repay up to $20, 000 of your current or future student loans, plus the interest.

CASH BONUS: The Air National Guard offers a Cash Bonus (up to $5000 for Prior Service members and up to $8000 for Non-Priors) for individuals enlisting for 6 years into certain career fields.

INSURANCE : Elect the $200,000 "Serviceman's Group Life Insurance" and you will be covered full-time for just $16 a month. (Optional)

BASE EXCHANGE & COMMISSARY: Unlimited shopping privileges for Guardsmen and their dependants at the BX. (Tax-free) Shopping at the Commissary 12 days during a twelve month period. (Tax-free)  Additional days can be earned during the year, i.e. annual tour and mandays.

SPACE AVAILABLE TRAVEL: Space available travel for the Guardmember.  Travel anywhere in the U.S., Alaska, Puerto Rico and Hawaii.  Travel anytime space is available on Government aircraft.

TRAINING: The best in the world and it's free!  Keep current in your AFSC, or retraining is available in most cases, if you choose.  You also earn college semester hours for your training!

RETIREMENT: Your active-duty time and Reserve time will both count toward the 20 years needed for Guard retirement.  When you reach age 60 you will receive a monthly retirement check and a Retiree ID Card, which will entitle you to all the benefits retirees get.

Obligation: You may enlist for either 4 or 6 years.  It's your choice!
